This English Language Arts lesson is an extension activity, conducted with small group instruction to fourth grade students. Students will be assigned to 4 groups of six. I guided students through a writing exercise where they created alternate versions of a story. I modeled expectations in rotating stations and projected instructions on the board. Throughout the lesson, I offered individual assistance to students at station 2, helping them navigate the assignment and choose which story elements to modify. Station 1 focuses on review Tier 3 vocabulary. Station 3 focuses on reviewing how to categorize their new characters in a character profile chart. Station 4 focuses on identifying the character based on character traits through a game of “Who Am I”.
