ELA — Character Analysis Unit

This narrative unit of fourth grade class is five lessons, focusing on character analysis. The first three lessons uses direct instruction structure of categorizing evidence in a Character Profile chart. The fourth lesson uses the advance organizer instructional structure to compare two characters. The fifth lesson uses the gradual release of responsibility structure to interpret the narrator’s point of view by writing a letter to another character in the story.
